Join us for a powerful two-week experience of putting sacrifical love into action for the least of these in our world.  Together, we will seek to enter solidarity with the poor, spend ourselves on behalf of the hungry, and grow in our understanding of what it looks like to love our neighbor as ourself.

We will embark on this sacrificial fast as a community during the first two weeks of Advent this year.  Get your church, small group, co-workers, friends, and family involved!  There are three suggested levels of participation to choose from, but we highly encourage you to engage at Level 1:

Level 1: Live Like the World: Did you know that most of your "neighbors" in the world struggle to get by on juts $2 per day?  Put sacrificial love into action by entering into solidarity iwth them and sharing in some of their hardships.  Spend only $2 per day on food on you and each member of your household for two weeks and then send the amount you would have spent on food to ELI.  A grocery sacrifice of $300 can provide vital training for 10 families in Kenya to receive the knowledge and skills they need to break the cycle of poverty and become self-sustainable, earning far more than $2 per day!

Level 2: Share Your World: Every 3.5 seconds today, one of our “neighbors” in the world will die from hunger or hunger related causes. Will you love them by sharing your food and resources?  Calculate how much money you spend on groceries for two weeks and give an equal amount to equip lives in East Africa with the skills they need to feed their families.  A grocery donation of $300 can help 10 families receive the training they need to put food on the table for their children for years to come.

Level 3: Share with the World: In light of the reality that the majority of the world lives on $2 per day, we challenge you to love them by giving up $2 each day for two weeks.  It may take sacrificing your daily cup of coffee or your weekly meal at a restaurant, but your $28 will provide vital training for one needy family in Africa to gain skills to provide far more than $2 per day to sustain themselves!

Empowerment for the Needy in East Africa:

All funds raised will provide training in life-giving skills for suffering families stuck in the hopeless cycle of poverty. For every donation of $30, a family will receive training in small business development, agriculture, horticulture, and health. The skills they receive through this training will empower them to become self-sustainable and provide for their children and families.
